My Process
Step One!
My process starts with your favorite photos of your pet! I suggest sending 3-5 good photos for reference. The higher the quality, the better the portrait will turn out. Lighting and positioning matters, which is why several different photos will help to give me a more accurate rough draft.
Step two!
Next I'll draft the portrait using a pencil to indicate guide areas for various features and to make sure everything is proportionate and accurate.
Then the fun begins! The first few layers of paint will help set the tone and color blocks for shading and highlighting later.

Step three!
After the next few layers are added, the portrait really starts to take shape and I start to add more details like fur pattern, and texture. The final layers will bring highlights to the eyes, moisture to the nose and mouth and an overall sense of vibrancy and expression.
Final step!
Getting your completed portrait back to you!
Depending on your location, I can either ship your painting directly to you, or deliver it by hand within a certain radius. I've had several local clients meet me at a coffee shop, park, or other convenient location to pick up their finished piece. I truly enjoy meeting my clients in person when given the opportunity!
